2006 XO Elite Section Information
Team XO is proud to announce that 3 elite high school races will be added to the Oregon Invitational as an extension of this year's XO Invite. Registration for these "XO Elite Sections" will be open to all high school athletes in and out of the State of Oregon, with one little twist. The twist is that the athletes competing at the XO Invite on April 15th will have the first and only shot in attaining limited automatic spots in these elite fields. The top 8 finishers in the 800, 1500, 3000 and Steeplechase will earn automatic entry spots in the XO Elite 2 Mile or Mile (each athlete can choose their preferred race). Lastly, the top 2 finishing teams in the 4x400, SMR, and DMR will claim 6 of the slots for the 8 team field in the XO Elite 4x400.

HOW TO ENTER YOUR ATHLETES
-------------------------------------------------------
-All entries will be handled through the Athletic.net website (www.athletic.net)
-Entries will not be accepted by telephone, fax, or e-mail.
-All entries are due by Monday, April 17th – at 11:00 pm.
-Starting lists will be posted on this website: Thursday April 20th.
-Scratches - Please email Ross Krempley at ross@teamxo.com with all scratches as soon as you know them.
-All of the athletes that receive the XO Elite auto spots, still need to register for the meet and follow all the normal entry procedures. If an athlete does not accept their auto spot in the XO Elite section, or fails to register, that spot will automatically go to the next best entrant.
-If you do not plan on accepting the auto spot, simply don't enter the race (entering = accepting your auto spot) (not entering = giving up your spot).

*XO Elite auto qualifiers do not have to pay an entry fee!
ENTRY SPECIFICATIONS

-Convert all times before entering your athletes on athletic.net
2 Mile - enter 3000 time
1 Mile - enter 1500 time
-Enter FAT times only (or converted), no hand times.
-After the entry deadline there will be no other additions or changes.
*Alternates on relays must be entered on the entry form, not at the meet.
*Athletes running in the XO Elite sections will be "unattached" or "school's name track club" and will not count towards an extra meet for their school (These athletes will also not be allowed to wear their schools jersey).
Awards

-Individual awards: for all events: See examples
Places will be awarded by performance regardless of heat or flight.
--1st place: XO Invite back pack : XO Invite letterman's jacket patch (reads "top finisher") : victory lap around Hayward Field – possible picture on website and highlight poster.
--2nd place: XO Invite t-shirt (reads "top finisher"): XO Invite letterman's jacket patch (reads "top finisher").
--3rd through 8th: XO Invite letterman's jacket patch (reads "top finisher").
*Relay Teams (awards go to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place teams)
VARIOUS MEET DETAILS
-------------------------------------------------------
-Check-in at clerk’s circle (South end of Hayward Field, under scoreboard) 1 hour prior to event.
-The warm-up track is located at the South end of Hayward Field.
::Athletes competing in track events must use the warm-up track to warm-up.
::The main track and infield facilities @ Hayward Field will officially close 30 min prior to the start of the meet. At such time only officials, participating athletes, media and event staff will be allowed on the track and infield.
-Dressing Facilities, changing rooms, showers, and towels are available in the Bowerman Building.
-Spikes must not exceed 1/4". High jumpers and javelin throwers may use 3/8" spikes in heel only, if necessary.
-Certified Trainers will be available at the Bowerman building for emergencies (an ambulance will also be present).
-Rules enforced at the OSAA State Championship will be in place in the XO Elite Sections.
:: Athletes running in the XO Elite sections will be "unattached" or "school's name track club" and will not count towards an extra meet for their school (These athletes will also not be allowed to wear their schools jersey).
::Appeals can only be filed once an infraction is noted and ruled upon – there is a $25 refundable fee for appeals.
::There is no meet camera or tape (except at the finish line) to review in case of a DQ or no call.
-Headphones and cell phones are not allowed in competition areas.
-Concessions will be available at the beginning of the Oregon Invite. 
-Coaches will not be allowed on the infield.
-Lodging Information Go to (CVALCO) www.cvalco.org/teamxo to find other hotels in the area that are providing discounts for the XO Invite.
-To enter Hayward: Coaches use their passes, athletes use their bib numbers.
-A Results packet will not be provided at the conclusion of the meet. Complete results will be posted on this website after the meet.
-Admission Fees: The University of Oregon is in charge of tickets for this meet.

PACKET DETAILS

Coaches and athletes may pick up packets at the Bowerman Building (located on 15th Street at the northwest corner of the track) on Friday from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 1:00 – 3:30 p.m.
-Entry fees are due when you pick up your packet
