Qualifies for Indoor Nationals at UW Indoor Preview
SEATTLE, Wash. —17
January 2004— On Saturday at the University of Washington’s
Indoor Preview, Team XO’s Kyley Johnson qualified for the
US Indoor National championship with a mark of 7’ ½”
in the high jump, just short of his personal best 7’1”.
“It felt really good to qualify for
Nationals, especially since I never got the opportunity to go
during my college career,” said Johnson. "this is the
best start that I have had in my career. It feels good to open
the season with a jump that is only a half inch below my personal
best."
In other field events, Team XO’s Mark
Vanderville placed forth with a height of 16’ 4 1/3”
in a pole vault competition that featured a battle of two of the
world's top-five pole vaulters in the current IAAF World Rankings,
while XO’s Adam Kriz placed second with a toss of 62’
5” in the weight throw.
On the track, Team XO’s
Brayce Forsha ran his first ever 3,000 meters in a time of 8:18.87,
which was good enough for third. Meanwhile, XO’s Jenny Rodgers
placed ninth in the 3,000 meters with a time of 10:06.29.
