Team XO Makes a Mark in Boston
BOSTON, Mass.—29
February 2004— Team XO sent three athletes to the 2004 USA
Indoor Track & Field Championships in Boston this weekend.
In only its second year as an organized post-collegiate track
and field team, Team XO appears to be making strides to make a
huge impact in future years. Last year the team sent 800 meter
runner Ross Krempley to Indoor Nationals where he placed fifth
overall.
In attendance to compete in Boston
were high jumper Kyley Johnson, thrower Adam Kriz and pole vaulter
Nikki McEwen. All three finished in the top ten of their respective
events.
On Friday, Kriz was the first XO member to compete. His toss of
65 feet, 4.25 inches in the weight throw finals was good enough
for 9th place.
On Sunday, the last day of competition, Johnson placed a strong
seventh in the high jump with a leap of 7 feet, ½ inch.
Also placing seventh on Sunday was McEwen. Her vault of 14 feet,
1.25 inches made a strong statement in a competition that included
former world record holder Stacey Dragila, who placed first.
USA Nationals is the final indoor meet of the season for Team
XO. The team’s outdoor season begins on March 6 at the Linfield
Icebreaker in McMinnville, Ore.

Team XO Track & Field Club was founded and created in 2002
by former University of Oregon track athletes. We are located
in Eugene, Oregon, home of historic Hayward field and known internationally
as Track Town, USA. Our team is comprised of primarily post-collegiate
athletes that train in the state of Oregon or have graduated from
universities in Oregon. Team XO has been created for elite post
collegiate track & field athletes looking to continue their
athletic career, while competing at the highest possible level.
We look to provide a home and unified team atmosphere where driven,
focused athletes can work together to achieve success both individually
